| Une industrialisation et une urbanisation accrues du littoral ont pu entraîner une augmentation de divers rejets dans le milieu marin. Le problème des rejets chlorés se pose en raison des débits concernés et aussi de la diversité des composés à priori toxiques ainsi dispersés. La chloration a pour but l'élimination des micro-organismes des eaux traitées : germes pathogènes dans le cas de la désinfection des effluents de stations d'épuration des eaux usées, organismes susceptibles de se fixer et de se développer sur les parois des circuits dans le cas du traitement des eaux de refroidissement des usines implantées en bord de mer. | Until the appearance, in 1970, of the American crayfish Orconectes limosus (Rafinesque, 1817) in the Netherlands, only a single species of crayfish was known here: Astacus astacus (Linnaeus, 1758). Geelen (1978a, b) provided an extensive discussion on the distribution of the two species. On 13.vi.1980 the Rijksinstituut voor Visserijonderzoek of IJmuiden (National Institution for fishery Research, RIVO) presented the RMNH a freshwater crayfish with a request for identification. "Aurelia". The main object is to obtain information on distribution, density, biomass and fluctuations of crawling or swimming demersal (epibenthic) fauna such as small fishes, shrimps, prawns, crabs, asteroids, ophiuroids and some gastropods, for the evaluation of the role of these carnivores in the benthic ecosystem of the southern North Sea. | INTRODUCTION Part XVI of the Fauna van Nederland, Isopoda & Tanaidacea (Holthuis, 1956), deals with 27 species of Isopoda occurring in salt and/or brackish water. According to Holthuis (1956) the occurrence in the Netherlands of two of these, Sphaeroma serratum (Fabricius, 1787) and Bopyrus squillarum Latreille, 1802, is very doubtful and will remain so, as the material on which the records were based is lost and no new records of these species have been published for the Netherlands. Since 1956 many new data were obtained for several of the remaining 25 species, while 12 species were found for the first time in Dutch waters or in the southern North Sea. | Between 1969-1980, the annual shrimp catch ranged from 585 to 21116 tonnes. The percentage of shrimp in the total catch showed a sharp decline from 75% in 1969 to 18% in 1979 while the fish by-catch rose from 25% to 82. The shrimps were abundant during the rains (April to September). The number of shrimpers and effort rose by 338% and 337% respectively. The mean annual catch per unit effort (cpue) ranged between 0,196 in 1972 and 0.365 (tonne per day out of (port) in 1975. Japan, United States of America, and Britain are the main importers of Nigerian shrimps. |

| Abstract Horizontal migration in response to flooding is reported for Glossoscolecidae of a black-water inundation forest. During increasing water-level, Glossoscolecidae migrate towards the dry-land forest, 16-26m distance beyond the water margin. With decreasing water-level, they return to the inundation-forest, following the water margin at 5-10m distance. Distribution seems to be correlated with humidity and pH of the soil. |
